Another fantastic story from Bethany-Kris! As much as I heart her books, I have to say I'm glad this one is a standalone because the wait in between books in her series, although not a long wait, it's still a wait when I want to know how the series will play out. Connor and Evelyn are the very definition of broken, yet when they're together they balance each other.
Over the years, the facade that Connor presented began to wear on him, turning him into the person he loathes more than anything, yet what he could do? He encounters his only friend from childhood when he's sent on a particular mission. The decision he makes regarding Evelyn sets a whole new chain of events in motion, but he'll be damned if he gives her up, and he will fight to the death for her.
