*Warning: Intended for 18+ only. Contains graphic language and sex, as well as depictions of violence and sexual assault that may be disturbing to some readers.*

Niall Donovan is a talented photographer. When it comes to women, he can have his pick and has. But beneath the flirtatious, joking smiles he's hiding long buried pain and traumatic memories. Memories that are breaking the surface once more. Memories that he’ll do anything to shut up. When suicide doesn’t work for him, he indulges in pills, drugs, and physical pain. They seem to help some, but they barely take the edge off.

London Black has been put through the wringer. Between a car accident that nearly killed her, months of physical therapy, and finding out the boyfriend she moved to Midtown for has been cheating all along, she’s done being the sweet wholesome girl everyone thinks she is. A one night stand with the sexy photographer she meets at a club is just the thing she needs to boost her ego. It does more than that when the explicit photos of them are the main exhibit at the local art gallery. Embarrassed, angry, and now without a prospective job, she confronts him on opening night. But when he offers her a generous deal with room and board in return for more photos, she accepts. Taking naked photos with him for a large sum of cash doesn’t seem like that horrible of an option, and besides they both intend to keep things completely professional.

When the shutter starts snapping, however, it’s hard for either to deny what's developing between them. Neither are in a good place and prefer those desires stay hidden in the dark, but the camera doesn’t lie. Baring it all may expose more than their bodies. But exposing their hearts may be more than Niall or London bargained for.

Liam Donovan can’t connect with women. The only woman he thought he had something with was his best friend Shayne, but she chose his younger brother over him. Single, bitter, and with a non-existent sex life, he’s accepted the only good things he’s got going in his life are his tattoo shop and fighting in the cage.

When Lucy Stevens walks into his shop for a tattoo, he dismisses her like so many of the beautiful but vapid girls he’s met over and over. Unfortunately for him, this five foot blonde bombshell is more than capable of going a few rounds, easily putting Liam in his place. He finds her ability to keep him on his toes both intriguing and annoying. But he isn’t just afraid of being able to keep up with her verbal jests. Despite nothing being medically wrong with him, Liam hasn’t been able to “perform” on that front in years…

But Lucy isn’t one to back down from a challenge. When she gets this man in a compromising position and it seems once again his body won’t cooperate, Lucy takes control of the situation. A little tough love never hurt anybody, and it seems with Liam, that’s just what he needed.

For someone that’s spent the last decade having to be in charge, Liam finds complete release in handing it over to her. But Lucy is keeping a few secrets from Liam. Secrets that have previously destroyed her life and her past relationships. As she falls for Liam, she knows she needs to tell him. But will he still want to submit to her once he finds out the truth? Or will this be the one fight he walks away from?

REVIEW:
Well, I thought Kieran and Shayne were one of my favorite couples, but they just got bumped by Liam and Lucy.

Liam is one giant mess of a man. Yeah he's Irish and a tat-shop owner/MMA fighter, but he hasn't scored with the ladies in a while. Like a long while. Unfortunately for Liam, he doesn't need a little blue pill to help him, since his problem is more of a mental issue. Seeing that Liam is a little...backed up shall we say? He's not exactly the easiest person to be around. Just imagine if Oscar the Grouch was an MMA fighter with an Irish accent.

Lucy is a study in contrasts: by day a throwback to the 60s, complete with fringe boots and those bright colors that never look good on anyone. By night she becomes La Bella Dame, complete with crops and floggers.

Both Liam and Lucy have their past issues to contend with, and their first few meetings are not made of unicorns and glittery rainbows; they initially mix about as well as oil and water. Of course, all of that pent-up frustration is the foreplay for hot, smexy times. But that's not the end of their issues, because as their relationship develops, a whole new set of fears will take up residence that could be the ending of them as a couple before they really figure everything out.

Another stellar book from Ms. Howell, I can only imagine how awesome the third book in this series is going to be.

**Not for readers under the age of 18+. Contains language, explicit sex, and adult situations.**

Kieran Donovan has always been a doormat to the women in his life. Begging his wife not to leave after finding her in bed with not one—but five men—only provides further proof of that.

In need of an escape from an empty house and a broken heart, Kieran heads to Midtown to see his estranged brother, Liam. There he meets Shayne Wickham, Liam’s best friend. Shayne’s dark and sexy with a wild streak a mile long and a sexual appetite for things Kieran’s never even dreamed of doing. But after an intense, and all too brief encounter, he’s more than willing to learn. Despite the usual safeguards Shayne keeps around herself and her own wounded heart, she finds herself more than willing to show him the ropes…and the floggers…and the paddles.

Kieran’s never seen himself as dominant in any aspect of his life. But when Shayne submits herself to him, it ignites an inner strength and hunger he never knew he had—and feelings Shayne didn’t know she could have. So used to keeping others at an arm’s length, the ease with which she finds herself trusting Kieran is both exciting and unsettling. Could Kieran be someone she could finally trust her heart to—or will he leave her scarred like everyone else?

Just another mark on her skin.

REVIEW:
Oh poor Kieran, how can you not just want to give him a ginormous hug while kicking his whore of a wife in the taco as hard you can while wearing steel toe boots?

Unfortunately Kieran is a pushover when it comes to women (he begged his wife to stay after he walked in on her cheating on him....with 5 guys). He meets Shayne while visiting his brothers and from the beginning the chemistry between Kieran and Shayne is awesome.

Shayne has some serious demons in her life, it's a wonder that she didn't just collapse into herself. It was hard reading about the truth about Paul and not wanting to reach through my Kindle and bitch-slap her mother.

I loved the character development, from how guarded and closed off Shayne is, to how adorkable Kieran is (although over the course of the story he morphs into a superhot sexy adorkable man), and how well they complement each other.

This story moves along at a good pace and I found it easy to pulled into the storyline from the very beginning, and I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series.

EXCERPT

He continued to stare out the window.

“I’ve been gone a long time. Funny thing is, it only feels like a few days. It’s like I fell asleep and woke up from a bad dream.” He finally turned to face me, releasing a long sigh. “Are you doing any better? Not so scary, am I?”

“I wasn’t scared. Well, maybe just a little. It’s not every day a ghost shows up in your bedroom and starts a conversation with you when you’re half asleep.” I sat on the edge of my bed. “Jack? Why are you here? And I don’t just mean like this. Why are you here - with me - in my house?”

“Not sure. Something about this place seems familiar, I think. You seem familiar to me, too. But that’s not possible, right?”

“Well, Alice used to live here when you were still alive. That’s probably why the farm’s familiar.”

I studied Jack’s handsome face. He must have been a popular guy back in the day. I couldn’t get past the despondency in his eyes. I was so busy trying to wrap my own head around everything I’d been going through that I hadn’t stopped to think about how difficult the whole situation must be for him. One moment he’s young, alive, and fighting for his country. The next, he’s waking up to a strange and morbid reality.

“What do you remember?” I asked.

“Korea. That’s it. I don’t remember shipping out. Actually, I can’t even remember my life before that.” He closed his eyes. “Don’t remember dying either. Out of everything, you’d think I’d remember my own death, wouldn’t you?”

REVIEW:
I liked this book more than I thought I would, simply because I very rarely read stories where the main character is a teenager. But the blurb sounded interesting enough that I took a chance and I'm glad I did. There are quite a few plot twists along the way in this book, but not so many that it's hard to keep them all straight. From the blurb you know there is something of a love triangle going on, but it's one that you've probably not read about before, and that alone makes this story that much more interesting to read. I found it easy to get caught up in this story and would only put it down when I realized how late it was and that I still had to go to work.

The fact of the matter was I didn’t want to live without Jack. Just the thought of going the rest of my lifetime without seeing his face gave me a sick feeling somewhere just below my heart. If life was fair, Jack would be a living, breathing guy made of flesh and blood who would wrap me in his arms forever…until death do us part. But as luck would have it, death had already kept us apart. I’d fallen in love with a ghost. He had my heart, and it had become far too painful to allow him to keep it.

Sobs of complete sorrow shook me, but I continued to press on, never missing a note. My face was soaked with the salty dampness from my eyes. Tears fell indiscriminately on to the keys below.

I came to the end of the song, stood up and strode out of the room with a new resolve. It was time to figure things out once and for all. The evil that had taken over my home had to go.

Jack consumed my thoughts. He was the reason my heart beat a little bit faster each morning, the reason I opened my eyes every day, and why my brain couldn’t focus on any one thing longer than a few minutes at a time. He was my world, and as far as worlds went, he was the sole reason why my sun rose each morning. In no way could I exist without Jack at the center of my universe, but in the end, I knew I would have to figure out a way to do just that.

I was only 17 and had an entire lifetime ahead of me. Time would pass, and I would age. Jack would remain the same. I forced myself to come to grips with the fact that Jack would forever be a young soldier—a beautiful boy—while I grew older by the day. It had become apparent that I needed to stop living in a fantasy world and deal with facts.

Jack was dead.

It was time to rid my home of the darkness that had taken over and then release Jack from his perpetual prison. Then we would have to face the inevitable.
REVIEW:
Well, this book is just as good as the first in the series. But there are more things that Dusty is having to deal with besides the whole weird love triangle going on; she's trying to solve the mystery of Jack's death, as well as the whole crop of evil entities that just don't seem to know how to play together nicely. I can't wait to read the last book in this trilogy!
