RELEASE TOUR & REVIEW - Working With It (The Persimmon Series #3) by Cass Alexander

WORKING WITH IT
The Persimmon Series, Book 3
by Cass Alexander

Genre: New Adult, Romantic Comedy

Morgan Pottinger is counting the days until graduation. Her plans are to leave small town Kentucky and never look back. As she starts her senior year at Persimmon College, she finds herself the object of Nate Stevenson’s affections. Despite her spaz-like tendencies, Nate makes it clear he wants her. Morgan cannot resist the sexy, intelligent guy that keeps her on her toes and ties her up in knots.

There’s just one problem. Morgan needs to break up with her hometown boyfriend before pursuing anything with Nate. A series of catastrophes back home continuously interfere with her attempts to end the relationship. At this rate, she’ll be married to the loser by March and Nate will be just another casualty in the disaster that is her life. Lucky for Morgan, Nate’s much smarter than she is.

This book is a hot mess of fun and I enjoyed every minute of this story. I didn't realize until I started that this is part of a series, and while the characters from the earlier books are in this story, you can still read this as a standalone and not feel lost.

Morgan is that one person we've all known at some point in our lives: lovable, sweet, quirky, maybe not that coordinated, but has a heart of gold. She's also got one helluva a moral compass, which is the reason why she's not crossing boundaries with Nate until she gets the hometown boyfriend situation rectified, which ends up being not as easy as one would think lol.

Nate, bless him, is a great book boyfriend. He's got plenty of smarticles and insight, especially when it comes to Morgan. He throws signals her way, but she's not sure about the actual message; it does take her a bit to catch on to the fact that he likes her. He's surprisingly understanding about the situation with her hometown guy, but is he willing to wait?

As for the hometown situation, that is a whole other bucket of comedy; I mean, you kinda feel bad for what the boyfriend is going through, and goodness knows his mother is definitely making the situation worse than it is and trying to lay blame on Morgan. I laughed pretty damn hard when Morgan finally stood up to the mother.

I look at my watch. It’s almost midnight. I check my phone for the hundredth time, wondering why Morgan hasn’t texted me.

I assume she’s trying to finish up her essay, but I had hoped she’d at least acknowledge my two texts.

We didn’t have much contact this week, with her being in Planters Grove. It brought about a dimness to my days, not seeing her. I didn’t like it.

She did reach out and let me know that Alex was going to lose his arm. I feel bad for the guy. Not bad enough to let go of Morgan, but I’m not made of stone.

I get the feeling she’s trying to avoid me. I assume, with the removal of his appendage, she was unable to have a frank talk with him about their relationship. And I get it. I won’t push her on it. But I need to figure out how to help her through this process.

I take another sip of beer, only half listening to the conversation taking place in my room. We just finished up some games of Euchre. Now that my mind’s not focusing on cards, it’s obsessing about the little brown-eyed vixen living across the street.

I thought about knocking on her window, but realized she might need space to process. I’ll give her until tomorrow before I seek her out, assuming she still doesn’t return my text.

I pull out my phone to text her once more, to say goodnight, when I hear the familiar lilt of her voice coming from the hallway. It causes the neurons along my brain-gut axis to start going nuts. Will there ever be a time when she doesn’t give me such a primitive reaction?

Morgan appears in the doorway and flashes a big, goofy grin. You don’t have to be a genius to see that she’s been drinking. It’s cute.

“Hey, y’all!” she says to the group. Her usual subtle Southern drawl is especially twangy tonight. I think drinking brings out the Kentuckian in her.

“Hey, Morgan,” Penny responds. Nugget, one of our pledges, waves.

“Everybody out,” I command as I get out of my chair and put my beer on the coffee table.

“What? Why?” Nugget protests.

I glare at him. I’m not angry, I simply want to communicate through intimidation that his little ass needs to vacate my room immediately.

He looks over at Morgan, then back at me and shakes his head. Then he makes a huge mistake.

“Bros before hoes, Stevenson.”

I step towards him, ready to grab him by the shirt and toss him out the damn window. No one will refer to Morgan as a ho in my presence, even as a joke. I hesitate when I hear her snicker.

“Ah, Nugget,” she says, “God wasted a perfectly good asshole when he put teeth in your mouth.”

A fierce swell of laughter overtakes the room, from everyone but Nugget. I can’t help it. That might be the most superior affront I’ve ever heard. In fact, it may have just saved his little ass from a long drop to the ground.

She’s a connoisseur of fine humor, hilarious insults, and all things chocolate, preferably dark (like her humor). Oh, and wine. Let’s not forget the wine. Cass also enjoys running. It’s become crucial to her survival, due to her consumption of wine and chocolate.

Cass’s mission in life is to spread the love and the laughter, goodness knows it’s needed. It’s why she wrote The Persimmon Series.

Gentlemen's Agreement Excerpt © Ethan Radcliff 2016

Chad had vowed he'd never visit any private club that catered to BDSM, and was tired of the idiots at work talking about being tied and spanked. What the fuck was happening -were women taking a few steps backward? Then the talk of riding crops, nipple clips, and fucking crazy kinky shit turned up in almost every conversation.

He didn’t consider himself kinky or having any kinks. In his circle of friends there seemed to be a drift toward a curiosity for domination and pain. Chad had to be in control at all times, at least he thought he did until Cleo Davenport; the woman unhinged him. After speaking with Jon, he nonchalantly asked him how much a session with the elusive Domme cost him. Cleo came at a steep price, fifteen-hundred dollars a pop; he never thought he'd pay any female for her sexual favors. However, he had to admit that steep price fed his curiosity. Was she that good at what she practiced?

Straight sex was now referenced as vanilla sex. He preferred straight sex, or did he? Would Cleo show him more? Would he let her? Now to explain to his best friend that he wanted to fuck his Domme and then some.
Ethan Radcliff has been writing stories since he was a kid. He loves creating and tried his hand at art, but felt he wasn't good enough. Through high school he wrote erotic stories, kept them in a notebook and let a few of his girlfriends read them. He then began writing poetry, which he kept to himself, because most of his poems were based on erotica. His brain never stopped. He became serious about writing erotic romance stories a few years ago and wondered how hard it would be to break through the barrier as a male erotic romance writer.

He delved into the world of BDSM and took a personal journey through the lifestyle, which aided in his writing.

He'd been a face book user for years. He never saw anything interesting until he began to see all the writers and then some poets posting their erotic prose. Men who were writing erotic romance began to crop up. He watched and then began to post a few poems here and there. The response was good and then better. He was being noticed.

He can see a picture and write a poem. He can see an attractive women and conger up a sexy scenario. The jiggle of a full ass or heavy breasts can get him going. His mind is always on an attractive face or body.

His thanks go out to Bitten Press LLC and the two lovely women who run it, for goading him on, telling him to go for it and he did.

His first short story is The Taming of Molly Jenkins. It's hot. Is it based on personal experience? All he can answer is, perhaps. The next short story is The Wait, Britt's Undoing. There will be more. He has a paranormal erotic romance series, Desires of Blood which at the moment is four books strong with three more already planned. Stay tuned for some historical, contemporary and fantasy erotica from him. Yes, and he will continue with some great stories including some BDSM adventures. He has two books of erotic poetry published; they have been an amazing success.

Follow Ethan Radcliff as he continues to entertain you. He can write any genre and intends to broaden his scope as an author in 2016.

His thanks go out to all his readers. Without them he'd still be writing notes in his composition notebook, waiting for that right moment. You made it happen for him.
