If you haven't read anything by Bethany-Kris, you are doing yourself a disservice. This is an author who knows how to bring mafia stories to life. And they're always well-balanced so you get the perfect mix of mafia and romance. We finally get Dino's story, and my goodness what a story it is.

Prior to this book, we don't know much about Dino; he's the oldest brother of the DeLuca family (The Chicago Wars), but mentioned enough in passing that you become curious about his story. Dino is a man who is constantly haunted by his past and has zero trust in anyone, including himself. Until he meets Karen, the one person who's managed to do the impossible with Dino: reach him on a level where he begins to feel something foreign. What we call emotions, but hey, baby steps, right? However, having read just about every Bethany-Kris book, I know this won't be a cut-and-dried romance. What mafia romance is? There's always going to be someone in the family who doesn't agree with the romance. And by family, I mean La Familia. Dino's got big problems to deal with, especially since he's paying for his father's actions, once word gets out about Karen, will she become collateral damage?

This is yet another book I got sucked into from the first page, especially knowing how Dino's story was mentioned in the Chicago Wars, and after finishing this book, I can't wait to find out what sort of trickery Ms. Bethany-Kris has up her sleeve for Dino.
