Ice. Lady Killer. Perpetual bachelor.
Until Lindsey stepped into his life, Ice had never considered having a relationship ever again.
He liked his life the way it was and that was the end of that conversation.
But when Ice kidnaps Lindsey to protect her, he has no choice but to bring her home with him.
And that's where the problems begin.
There's a very fine line between love and hate, but which side will they land on?
This was my first time reading Giulia Lagomarsino and I didn't realize it was a necessity to have read the previous books in the series, because I was quite confused by the first chapter and the events that had taken place I'm guessing at the end of the previous book, but I soldiered through and kept reading. I gotta admit, I wasn't a fan of Ice at the start of this book; his whole "my way or the highway" attitude irritated my last nerve, but the more I read, the more I began to understand that Ice was truly baffled by Lindsey's negative attitude towards him, since apparently he's such a ladies man.
I can totally understand Lindsey's reaction to situation that's her new reality. Who wouldn't be equal parts pissed off and confused when their life literally went up in flames? I liked that Lindsey wasn't the damsel in distress type of character, she knew what she wanted (at least when it came to her professional life) and made it happen.
There is so much push and pull between Ice and Lindsey, even after they add benefits to their contentious cohabitation situation (and those benefits are all kinds of sexy hot!). They desperately need to work on communication skills, that was sorely lacking in several spots throughout the story. I love the interactions between Ice and the other members of the security team, always made for some hilarious conversations (especially the shoelaces and pillows scene).
As much as I liked this book, there were a couple of events that happened that were never explained (the burglary and the event at Gettysburg), and I feel like the last 5 or so chapters were extremely rushed. I still like how the story wrapped up for Ice and Lindsey, and I can't wait until it's Jules' turn in the hot seat!
I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.
