Well, after the first book in the series, I figured I was in for another dark-ish sort of ride, but nope! What I got was something seriously sexy and hot, with a broken-ish book boyfriend and the surprise lady who managed to captivate him in a way no woman had since the debacle of his breakup a year prior (and what a f*cked up situation that was!)
After meeting Echo in the first book, I was happy to know he's not all dark and foreboding like Creed; I found that surprising, given his family situation and how he's been treated by his parents and brother over the years.
