Ben's life hasn't exactly panned out the way he wanted, but at least he's got his new career path to keep him focused after the losses he suffered. I loved that even after all the years apart, they still remembered each other, and once back in the same orbit, they were able to resume their friendship without any awkwardness. Unless you account for how thrown off they each were by how attractive they'd each become since the last time they saw each other. Their relationship seemed so natural, and the chemistry between them was all kinds of sweet and hot.
