This is a fantastic box set! Four of the five authors are new to me, and I'm already looking forward to reading more of their individual books. These stories are all set around high school, and makes me so incredibly happy that my high school years were never like this! I loved the interactions between Eden and Camden in Nicole Cypher's VICIOUS KNIGHT; Eden wasn't a damsel in distress type, she didn't back down from whatever was happening in regards to Camden. There were plenty of layers to Camden, although I would have liked to see more tension between him and his parents. Rina Kent's CRUEL KING was another story that pulled me in, Levi and Astrid are solid characters with plenty of depth to them and I liked getting to know the different sides to them. Emse Devlin's MERCILESS KNAVE worked for me because there's already a history between Tommy and Michelle; not a great history, but when is it great when one is the bully? There's plenty of love and hate between them, amplified because of the situation they're in due to their parents. They each give as good as they get and I couldn't wait to see how their story would turn out.
