Nine Standalone novels. Nine dangerous men. Nine unrepentant sinners you’ll hate to love.
So by the time I got to the end of the first book of the series, I was both excited yet hesitant to want to the read the next book because Tanner and Luca had me spellbound, so who can compete with that? Pssh, I shouldn't have worried because one, this is Lily White we're talking about and this is woman who knows how to write, and two, this is Gabe's book. And if you've read the first book, you've got an idea of what Gabe is capable of. Now add in his nemesis from his youth and you've got yourself one helluva story!
To say the history between Gabe and Ivy is fraught with tension is like saying the blue whale is just a big fish. There's so much back and forth between them I felt like I needed a referee and flash cards in order to keep up, but all that animosity between them was perfect, because Gabe needs someone who knows how to keep up and even get the best of him at times. There were moments in the story where I was reminded of predator and prey, but the roles would change throughout the story and that definitely kept things lively and entertaining.
