RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW - Treachery (Antihero Inferno #1) by Lily White

Title: Treachery
Series: Antihero Inferno #1
Author: Lily White
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: May 27, 2020
Ninth Circle.
Treachery.
Also known as Tanner Caine.

He is a temptation with cold, dark eyes.
A man with a seductive smirk and a body built for pure sin.
The linchpin of a group of wealthy bad boys known as the Inferno.

A dark presence that repels as much as he attracts, Tanner is the poisoned apple I want to bite even when I know it will destroy me.

Our story started in college, but I ran from him so far I believed I was safe.

I should have known he’d find me eventually.

I should have known that nobody escapes.

He has me in his sights again with an offer I can’t pass up.

I know better than to make a deal with the Devil.

Not unless I’m willing to pay his sensual price…

(Treachery is Book One of the Antihero Inferno Series. Nine Standalone novels. Nine dangerous men. Nine unrepentant sinners you’ll hate to love).

I literally don't know how Lily White does it, but once again she's gifted us with the start of a new series that I absolutely, 154%, got the dark circles to show for it book that I could NOT put down once I started. And given this is a lengthy book, I'm sure I look like death warmed over, but dammit this book is fantastic! This is a two part book; the prequel gives us the past when Tanner and Luca meet while enrolled at Yale and sets up the story, while the rest of the book are the events that happen three years after the prequel ends.

Obviously this is an "antihero" story, but I'm not sure that's what I call it; on the surface I damn sure would steer clear of the Inferno, but as the story unfolds, you get a sense as to why this group of men are the way they are. Each man plays a specific role within the group, and they've all got the same end game plan, but there are a LOT of moving parts that are in play to achieve the desired result.

And that's what brings us Tanner and Luca. The chemistry between these two is off the freakin' charts and has been since they first met in college; unfortunately the animosity between them is on the same level as the sexual tension. On the surface, Tanner seems like the ultimate dick, and yeah he is, but we do see moments where he seems to...be empathetic maybe? He does have a conscience so he's not a totally uncaring tool, but again, there's a lot of moving parts and some things are not in Tanner's control, which explains a good portion of the book.

Luca on the other hand? There were times I wanted to shake her, but I also understood her thoughts and feelings given how the last 3-5 years of her life has gone so I can appreciate that it's all about self-preservation. She's in the dark on a LOT that affects her life, and the strings that were being pulled all will-nilly in order to bring her to heel.
