After reading the blurb, I was excited to read this first book by these two great authors, and while it was entertaining, there were moments at the start of the book where I felt like I was missing part of the story, at least when it comes to Kara's POV in the story. Maximus' POV seemed a bit more straight-forward, considering the mystery that he is. I liked the bit of switch in who was the more forward between these two; I could understand Maximus' hesitance and concern (and his reasons were valid). The chemistry between them is unreal, the calm they seem to bring to the other wasn't something either of them was prepared for, especially Kara as her destiny has already been determined and Maximus wasn't supposed to be a part of that destiny. I can't wait to see how things will play out over the course of this series.
