Another fantastic story for this series! I think one thing that makes this work so well is that Angel and David already have a history; on the surface they couldn't be more different, but once you peel back the layers, you see they're really not so different, each having endured a childhood that is horrific. The story is told in dual POV, and both past and present tense. We get to see them meeting all those years ago, and the event that happened that severed the ties they had.
