I always get just a bit excited whenever I learn that J.D. Hollyfield has a new book on the horizon because each book I've read by her has never let me down, and I couldn't wait to dive right into this one. And let me tell you, I was thoroughly sucked in right from the start. 

Now, I'm all about a good secret crush/sibling's best friend romance, and we definitely get that with this story, but some of the secondary characters had me wanting to give them a high five.

To the face.

With a brick (looking at you Chase and definitely Rebecca).

An unusual circumstance brings Hannah and Levi together, but things really kick off when a few weeks later, Hannah discovers that Levi is now her new boss. One thing that sets this apart from other secret crush romances is that we see a genuine friendship begin to develop between Levi and Hannah that seemingly goes a long way to healing the parts of them that felt broken, and seeing that friendship begin to turn into something more. The one thing I wasn't exactly a fan of is how long it took before Rebecca was finally confronted about her behavior; I would have preferred that to have been concluded well before it was, that woman got too much screen time IMO lol. While there are a few laugh out loud moments, I wouldn't necessarily categorize this as a RomCom, but it is one I highly recommend!
