RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW - Dark Soul (Dark Series #2) by H.R. Owen

Title: Dark Soul
Series: Dark Series #2
Author: H.R. Owen
Genre: Dark Romance
Release Date: September 4, 2019

Bates

I’ve had a dark soul since the day my mother died, and I never thought anyone could change me.

That was until I met Harmony. She bought me out of the darkness and into her light. Everything changed when her best friend was hired to kill me. I was put into a safe house and banned from seeing my Harmony until things cooled down. Two years later and she shows up at my door and finds another woman staying with me. I messed up and now she’s taken. She’s mine and I’m going to make sure they both know it.

Harmony

He broke me. I waited two years to be with him, and I would have waited more. Unfortunately, when I finally saw him again, he was living with another woman. Now I’m dating Mason, my new boss’s son. He’s tall, handsome and caring, but I’m more attracted to broken and dark. After seeing Bates at my best friend’s wedding, I know something’s wrong with him and I can’t stay away. I want to punish him, but my body won’t let me.

This can be read as a standalone, but it's best to read Dark Mind first, as that's where you first meet Bates and Harmony and what happened that he ended up on an assassin's list of targets. This is a dark romance, but one that pulled me in almost from the start, and didn't let go until I got to the end. Both Bates and Harmony didn't have the best childhood, Bates even more so sad, given his mother's behavior and treatment towards him; I wasn't prepared for the narrative about what happened to his mom, but I sure didn't shed any tears of her. There are quite a few layers of secrets and deception within this story, and I couldn't read fast enough to find out how everything would play out, and while I shouldn't have been surprised, there were a few moments that had my heart pounding and my jaw dropping in surprised shock. This is a series that I highly recommend!

H.R. Owen lives in Queensland with her two beautiful daughters and husband. She has a passion for music, art, and decorating. Sexy men with tattoos and chocolate are her weakness. H.R. Owen loves spending her days caring for her girls and spending the nights getting lost in dark romance novels.

BLOG TOUR & REVIEW - Good Gone Bad (The Fallen Men Series #3) by Giana Darling

Title: Good Gone Bad
Series: The Fallen Men Series #3
Author: Giana Darling
Genre: Erotic Romance
Release Date: November 23, 2018

They say one action doesn’t define you. I killed a man. Stabbed him in the neck and licked the blood off my lips after I did it.

Still, one action doesn’t define you.

I could have called anyone. My father, the Prez of The Fallen MC, our family lawyer, my best friend, Lila, or my brother, King.

I didn’t.

Instead, I called Lionel Danner, the police officer renowned for taking down the Nightstalkers MC. The man who had been my father’s arch nemesis for decades. The man who hated everything I stood for. A man who had disappeared from my life without explanation three years ago.

I called him.

And maybe one action doesn’t define you, but killing a bad man and calling in the good changed my life and it sure as hell changed his.

The third book in the Fallen Men Series. A standalone featuring Harleigh Rose and Officer Lionel Danner.

This book y'all. Just when I didn't think this series could suck me in any more, Ms. Darling just had to give me Harleigh Rose's story and this book had me glued to my e-reader even more than I normally am (and that is a LOT my friends). Goodness knows, growing up the princess of a MC definitely isn't a typical childhood, and bless H.R. and her brother King, their childhood sucked just a bit more because of their mother.

One thing that makes this story work is that there is a long history between H.R. and Danner (or Lion). The story is told primarily in present time, although we do get flashbacks over the years to see how the interactions between a young H.R. and Danner evolve. This is a highly charged, action-packed story, complete with angst and drama, deception, and at least 3 characters you would love to bitch slap (at least I got that feeling). There's also plenty of emotions felt throughout the story, and I felt my heart crack at least twice.

Author Lee Piper - “So yeah, Good Gone Bad is hot AF. But it’s also more than that. It’s layered, multifaceted, and above all, beautifully written.”
Musings of the Modern Belle - “Good Gone Bad is not just a super steamy romance, it is not just a suspenseful story about taking down a corrupt MC, it is a reflection of how humans aren’t just good or bad. It is a look at how we are both, how we can find our match in another, someone who just inherently gets you. It is about living wild and free while still having limits and being able to surrender and submit for those you love. It is an epic ride I implore you to take. Giana and Danner and Rosie won’t let you down.”
Author R. Scarlett - “I am so so in love with this book and Giana's talent for creating addicting stories and beautiful complex characters.”
