BLOG TOUR REVIEW & GIVEAWAY - Perfect Love (Perfect Sense #2) by Amanda Cowen

Perfect Love
Amanda Cowen
Publication date: February 27th 2017
Genres: New Adult, Romance, Sports
The story that started with PERFECT SENSE continues…
Cash Brooks held a secret from Quinn that destroyed any chance they had at a happy ending.
Everything she believed their relationship to be was a lie.
Quinn left heartbroken for Harvard, unable to stop loving him even though she knew his past ruined any chance they had at a future.
Now, she’s in Boston completing her MBA and learning to move on without the only man she ever loved. Starting over isn’t easy… especially when an unlikely circumstance pulls her into Cash’s world once again. The truth will come out, hearts will be broken, and Cash will have to battle the mistakes from his past and fight for a second chance to be with the woman he loves.
Their love isn’t perfect, but will it be enough for Quinn to learn to trust him again? Or will the burden and mistakes from his past keep them apart forever?

After waiting for what seems like forever, I finally got the chance to see what would happen for Quinn and Cash after that shocking ending in PERFECT SENSE, and this follow-up didn't disappoint.

We get a more in-depth look into Cash's background and the tragedy that rocked his family, and how that led to the twist that was revealed at the end of book one. This book still finds Cash in a downward spiral now that Quinn's in Boston, but she's not doing any better, even though she's doing what she can to try and move on. They're reunited after an accident, but they've still got a metric sh!t ton of issues to work through. I will say that there were times I wanted to smack Cash because he was acting like an egotistical jackhole and that annoyed me to no end lol. But I like how they were able to move past all of the hurt and drama and reach their HEA.

BOOK BLITZ - The Truth about Porn Star Boyfriends by Sunniva Dee

The Truth about Porn Star Boyfriends
Sunniva Dee
Publication date: August 15th 2017
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance
I guess I just forgot.
To ask him what he did for a living, I mean.
And by the time I did, I was in—balls deep, as he’d call it.
He was the perfect boyfriend.
Attentive, gorgeous, guessing my every wish and fulfilling them.
The sex was earth-shattering.
He even dealt with my crazy mom the way no one else could.
He popped the question, God, such a perfect guy.
There was just one issue:
He f*cked other girls on camera for a living.
How the hell do you deal with that?
EXCERPT:
I slept over at his house. I did. I just couldn’t go home after everything he told me. I didn’t accept the invite to come with him on the boat today though. I didn’t ask him if he was going without me either. If he is, wouldn’t he be inviting some “friends,” some Alicias or Silks? I don’t want to know.
It’s not difficult to get my shifts back at Mintrer’s. With Il Signore’s nonna at the hospital, the family spends as much time at her bedside as they can.
Mom calls.
She sounds okay.
I need to verify in person even though Paul is next door, hopefully keeping her busy with his garden statues and homemade fountains. He likes my quirky mother because he’s quirky himself. That’s my guess anyway. I don’t think I can handle any new rocks hurled at Status Quo at the moment, especially not from Mom.
The boat is ready.
I only returned to my house two hours again, and this is what Ciro texts me? I roll my eyes. Frieda lowers the bagel she held up for me—everything or just sesame seeds?—and says, “That isn’t the porn star, is it?”
“Yeah, it’s Drake Constantine.” I pull out the syllables mocking him even though each sound opens my chest again.
“Well, at least he’s got a nice artist name. He’s no Jake daBoner or Cassius Erectus.”
I snort.
“Drake Constantine boned me in the ass last night,” she quotes as if from Shakespeare. She gazes beyond the bagel she now holds up like a skull.
I chuckle a little bit, and Frieda smiles. Smiles so wide it makes me feel guilty over everything I’ve put her through. I know she suffers with me. She didn’t sleep last night knowing I was with Ciro.
“What’s he saying?”
“He tells me he’s got the boat ready.”
“For that Catalina trip?”
“Mhmm.”
“You’re not doing that too, are you?” She drops the halves of the bagel into the toaster.
“Not the everything,” I say. “Can I have the sesame seed one instead?”
She presses her mouth together in a stern line but listens and fishes the everything one out and drops the sesame bagel in instead. “Happy now?”
“Very.”
“You’re not going, right?”
“No.” I want to slap my heart and my body for agreeing that we should say yes. “I already told you. I’m visiting Mom this morning, and then I’m working. If I get to do some overtime this weekend, I’m happy. I need the money, and I really don’t want to mope around the house.”
I’ll wait for you if you’re asleep.
I said I wasn’t going. Can’t. We
I hit “send” before I can finish the “We’re over, remember?” part. It was easier to yell it to him when I was furious. Today, I don’t know how I feel.
Why can’t you? He doesn’t ask about the We part? He knows.
“He’s so stubborn,” I murmur and type again.
Because, when are you seeing someone else for a f*** fest?
He deserves that I’m being crude. Hell, he’s being crude every hour of every work day.
He takes a moment to reply. Long enough for Frieda to scoot a plate and the tub of cream cheese in front of me. “Stop texting with him. You’re only dragging it out. You know that, right? I thought you’d blocked him.”
“He has a work phone too. On-freaking-call cell. Ha!”

And, of course, the women in my life.
Actually, I might choose any position.
But make no mistake. I choose. I control.
My life is mine.
Which is why I’m not sure what the hell is going on when I open my front door and there’s a baby stroller sitting in my private hall.
The note on the infant simply says, “Do the DNA. She’s yours.”
Well, damn.
_____
Full length (395 print pages, 72,000 words) standalone HEA.
Contains all the crazy elements of a billionaire alpha male meets virgin next door for a fake marriage leading to a love affair — all while laughing over his inability to understand baby basics!)
99¢ this week only!
EXCERPT:
The dream is luscious.
I’m curled up on a soft green lawn. A breeze bends the stalks of a row of tulips. They look like they are leaning in to tell me a secret.
Then I see two shoes. Bright polished men’s dress shoes. A perfectly creased cuff lands at precisely the right position. There is no break in the crisply pressed fold. My eyes travel up it, past his knees, to the fly.
There’s a bulge there. He’s gotten aroused looking at me. Heat courses through my body and I skip ahead to his face.
But he’s already bending down, coming for me.
And his lips land on mine.
I fall into the kiss. It’s warm and soft and exactly what I’ve wanted. It tastes faintly of brandy. Smells engulf me. Expensive cologne. A hint of shampoo, something woodsy.
Then the grass is gone. I’m in a black void, spinning. I bring my arms up around the neck of this man in his suit, but I’m surprised to touch skin instead. He’s naked now, the suit peeled away just for me.
I hold on to his strong shoulders. The kiss gets deeper, richer, and the sensation of falling is more intense. His tongue enters my mouth and I open for him greedily. It makes sense, the slide into the emptiness and how he fills me.
Then I really am flying, moving through the air, and a bit of scruffy facial hair scrapes against my cheek.
I’m not in a void. I’m being carried.
But one part of the dream was right.
I am definitely being kissed.
I pull back. Oh my God. It’s Dell.
He looks down at me with a sly smile. “It works on babysitters as well as poisoned princesses,” he says.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW & GIVEAWAY - Rough (Thrust #2) by Sybil Bartel

Rough
Sybil Bartel
(Thrust, #2)
Publication date: March 20th 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Jared
I’m not your boyfriend. I’m not the guy next door. I don’t even play nice.
My hands twisting in your hair, my whispered demand in your ear—I’m the fantasy you’ll wish you never had.
When I’m through with you, every inch of your body will know where I’ve been. You won’t crave more, you’ll beg for it. Because I’m not just the cocky smile with military hardened muscles you paid five grand for—I’m the experience you’ll never forget.
One night with me and you’ll know exactly why women pay me to be rough.

This book is all kinds of hot! I didn't read the first book in the series, although I don't think that really makes a big difference since each book is about a different couple. I love the chemistry between Sienna and Jared, it's electric and palpable, as much as Jared tried to fight it at the start. Jared is the type who will protect those he holds close, and it doesn't take long for Sienna to be at the top of what is a very short list for Jared.

Sienna is the innocent young woman who is trying to move past her short-lived romance with the star quarterback for the Miami NFL team, although said quarterback isn't giving up or letting go that easily. It's not until later in the book when truths are revealed that it's easy to figure out why the quarterback is so insistent when it comes to Sienna. I was shocked when the truth was revealed, and couldn't even begin to imagine how much that information changes your whole view and beliefs about your life. And as demanding and upfront Jared is, he was perfect for Sienna because he recognized right away how to be there for her.

Author Bio:

Sybil Bartel grew up in Northern California with her head in a book and her feet in the sand. She dreamt of becoming a painter but the heady scent of libraries with their shelves full of books drew her into the world of storytelling. She loves the New Adult genre, but any story about a love so desperately wrong and impossibly beautiful makes her swoon.

Sybil now resides in Southern Florida and while she doesn’t get to read as much as she likes, she still buries her toes in the sand. If she isn’t writing or fighting to contain the banana plantation in her backyard, you can find her spending time with her handsomely tattooed husband, her brilliantly practical son and a mischievous miniature boxer…

But Seriously?

Here are ten things you probably really want to know about Sybil.

She grew up a faculty brat. She can swear like a sailor. She loves men in uniform. She hates being told what to do. She can do your taxes (but don’t ask). The Bird Market in Hong Kong freaks her out. Her favorite word is desperate…or dirty, or both—she can’t decide. She has a thing for muscle cars. But never reply on her for driving directions, ever. And she has a new book boyfriend every week—don’t tell her husband.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW - Dangerous Rock (Dangerous Noise #3) by Crystal Kaswell

Dangerous Rock
Crystal Kaswell
(Dangerous Noise #3)
Publication date: March 30th 2017
Genres: New Adult, Romance
I’m married to a rock star.
And I don’t even know his last name.
Bella
There’s a tall, tattooed man in my bed.
Not any tall, tattooed man.
He’s a rock star.
A sex god.
And now he’s my husband.
Last night, I married Joel.
It’s ridiculous. I’m a good girl. I don’t get into trouble. I don’t look twice at bad boys.
I can’t stay married to a rock star.
But there’s something about Joel. Not just the way his green eyes light up when he smiles, or the way he makes me laugh, or the way he makes me shake with pleasure–
I’m not sure I can walk away.
Joel
Bella Chase is a challenge.
With the tight bun and the cute cardigan, she’s as prim and proper as they come.
My only plan for the night is getting her under me, screaming my name.
Filling her with so much pleasure she begs me to stop.
I didn’t plan on marrying her.
But now that she’s my wife, I’m not about to let her go.

What do you do when your world is irrevocably changing and you can't stop it? You head to Vegas to lose yourself and attempt to stave off the inevitable.

You're a "good girl" and you're looking to change that image of you, so what do you do? You head to Vegas to lose the "good girl" image.

You catch someone's eye and flirt, have some drinks (or many), and the next morning you wake up to discover you're married. Talk about an image change!

I enjoyed this book, although I haven't read the first two in the series, but I do have to say that this story loosely sounds like another book I read a couple of years back in which two people meet in Vegas, they get drunk and get married, but the next morning the blushing bride doesn't remember what happened. But that's the extent of similarities. Joel is good for Bella, he manages to get Bella to come out of her shell on occasion, but there are some things she's not willing to let go: mainly her love of all things Harry Potter. I mean, can you blame her though?

They really are good for each other, and I love how their story wrapped up, and I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW - Parker (Face-Off Series #1) by Jillian Quinn

Parker
Jillian Quinn
(Face-Off Series #1)
Publication date: February 15th 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Former collegiate athlete and successful sports agent, Charlotte “Coach” Coachman, is a straight shooter who has a very strict policy—no dating clients. The loves of her life are coaching little league basketball and managing the careers of her players, leaving no room for men.
Coach hasn’t met an athlete she couldn’t handle and a deal she couldn’t close—until she meets Alex Parker—the NHL’s most notorious bad boy both on and off the ice.
Alex is the best defenseman in the league, breaking records along with hearts. He’s made a name for himself as a womanizer, and after a scandal involving the owner’s granddaughter, Alex is traded to Philadelphia. Still reeling from the loss of his father, Alex is on a downward spiral, drowning himself in booze and women, until Coach takes him under her wing.
She might be attracted to the sexy hockey star, and certainly not immune to his charms, but Coach can see that Alex needs her help, and coaching players is what she does best. Now that the lines are blurred and the passion between them is too strong to deny, Coach has to decide if Alex is worth making an exception to her rules.

Who doesn't enjoy a good story in which the intrepid hero, who, more often than not, is a manwhore, meets his match in a sassy, take no ish female? That's what we get with Alex and Coach. But what I liked about this story is that right from the start, Coach makes it known that she won't fall for the games Alex uses to hook up with all the puck bunnies. I liked even more that Alex was smart enough to realize from the first time they met that his charms won't work on Coach and it seems to humble him. At the start, Coach does what she can to keep her rules intact, but the more time she spends with Alex, the more her feelings change. And Coach seems to be a positive influence on Alex as well. Their blossoming relationship might be unorthodox, but it works for them. I really enjoyed this story and I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

Author Bio:
Jillian loves Mafia men, sports, bad boys, dirty talkers, strong female characters, and books with plenty of heat, all of which you will find in her books. As a lover of all things bookish, she has a serious book hoarding problem and runs a book blog in her free time. When she's not reading, writing, or blogging, she's obsessively fangirling over hockey players and can be found wherever she can catch the next hockey game.

BLOG TOUR & EXCERPT - Wet by Ashley Rostock

Wet
Ashley Bostock
Publication date: December 26th 2016
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
I’ve always been Miranda Phillips, the town pariah. Growing up with neglectful parents, having sought attention from all the guys that were willing to give it to me, I wasn’t the most well-behaved kid in Lone Star. Not to mention all of the juvenile delinquent acts I’ve committed in my past.
But now I am Lone Star’s only reporter and I’ve come a long way from being that lost, troubled girl, even if most of the town still judged me for it. I don’t allow anyone to get in the way of what I want. Including Ryan John. So when I corner him in a dark hallway and get him to succumb to the sizzling attraction between us, I know I’m playing with fire.
***
Even though I’ve successfully avoided her for two months, I haven’t forgotten how she tastes or what she feels like in my arms. And when I get sent a mysterious letter from some company wanting to buy my thousand shares of water rights that have been in my family for over a hundred years, I’m convinced that there is no one…err, better equipped, to help me than Lone Star’s reporter, Miranda Phillips.
I know how desperately she wants me and this letter gives me all the reason I need to spend one night with the girl from the wrong side of town. One night in exchange for her tight investigative skills. And believe me, she’s tight, in more ways than one. One night. Because Miranda is trouble and being on the city council, as well as guardian to my younger brother and sister, means I can’t afford trouble.
Even if it comes packaged just the way I like.
 EXCERPT

Brianna’s voice carried me out of my thoughts. Her brown hair was braided, resting on her shoulder and she wore white pajamas with little bunnies plastered all over the tops and bottoms. She stood close enough that I could smell her minty toothpaste.
“Hey Brianna?”
She looked down at her matching bunny slippers. Oh shit, here it comes.
“I was wondering about that lady…um, Miranda. Is she your girlfriend or anything?”
“What? No. Nothing like that,” I lied. A half-lie as she wasn’t my girlfriend at all. But considering all of the ways I wanted to use her body, she was something.
“Are you sure? Because the way you looked at her, well sometimes Adam…he, uh, looks at me that way in math class and I just thought, well I was hoping actually that when a boy looks at you that way, it means he likes you.”
I closed my eyes, bowing my head, letting it fall into my cupped hands on the raggedy kitchen table. Seriously? This is the kind of crap I didn’t know how to deal with! I didn’t know what was going on with Miranda and I, except in exchange for information, we were going to give in to our urges and sleep together. Only once.
Yes, I was more attracted to Miranda than any other female I had ever come across, but that didn’t make her girlfriend material. How do I explain all of that to a thirteen-year-old girl? Besides, even though I had a strict no-dating rule for their young ages, I didn’t want to hurt Brianna’s feelings by allowing her to think the boy she was so infatuated with didn’t share her feelings. She was my sister and as cute as she was now, she was going to grow up and become a real heart-breaker. I was fucked.
What in the hell do I do? I lifted my head and asked her to sit down.
“Listen to me, okay? As you can see, Miranda is very beautiful. I’m a guy, I take notice in that because it’s natural so that’s why I look at her that way. Adam probably thinks you’re beautiful too because you are, okay?”
“Okay. But I need to know if he likes me!”
“You’re thirteen, Brianna! It doesn’t matter. Look, I’m sorry. Yes, okay. If he was looking at you the way I was looking at Miranda, then yes, he likes you.”
Somehow I’m going to regret this later.
“Soooo, you like Miranda, then? Is she going to be your girlfriend?”
Not much later. Was I seriously having this conversation with my thirteen-year-old sister?
