Regardless of what name she's writing under, Melissa Foster knows how to write sweet and hot romances that are easy to get wrapped up in, and this book is no exception. I loved seeing Jamie's and Jessica's relationship develop, they were perfect each other, and with this book being the sweet version, we get to see more of the friendship blossom into romance with only a smattering of sexy times. That's not to say they don't have their ups and downs, because there could be some...complications that arise in their budding relationship, and Jamie will have to decide whether to pursue Jessica and his chance at happiness, or let her go and play that most dangerous mind game "what if". While this book is part of a series (actually two series, if you want to count the more sexier versions of these books), it can be read as a standalone, and I have every intention of purchasing both the sweet and sexy versions of the books.

Jamie’s rich voice slid over her, bringing goose bumps to her arms and heating her up even more. How the heck did he manage to pull off laid-back and sensual at the same time? And why was it such a turn-on? She looked down at her hand, still on his thigh, and felt his muscles flex. The fire was nearly out, just a few embers glowing in the darkness. She should probably go home. It was already far later than she was used to staying up, and she had a big day tomorrow. Didn’t she? Didn’t she always? She had to practice and…No. That wasn’t right. This is fun start to a new series by Melissa Foster!  Both Rick and Desiree have issues from their pasts that still affect them in this story; with Rick it's the death of his father, and with Desiree, it's her mom's lack of attention and for all intents and purposes, the fact that her mom pretty much abandoned her at a young age.

The attraction is immediate between Rick and Desiree, although their initial meeting couldn't have been any more awkward than it was, but I still found it to be funny, especially since Desiree wasn't mad about what happened. The chemistry is great, for two people who don't know each other they seemed to slip into comfortable existence with each other right from the start. I gotta say that my favorite scene in the book is when Rick shows up to the art gallery for their first date and the scene he stumbled into had me laughing so hard I snorted. Not exactly professional since I was at work when I read it, but it was worth the weird looks I got from my colleagues.

If you've ever read a Melissa Foster book, you're already familiar with how well she creates her characters so that it's easy to sit back and just enjoy the people we meet in the book. As much as there's funny moments and scenes, there are a couple of times where you're hit with the emotional feels, but it's not enough to bring you down and make you sad. All of this culminates into a great finish, and I'm already looking forward to the next book in this series.

Really enjoyed this book, even though at the start Georgie rubbed me the wrong way (but that was at the very start of the book, like chapter 1 beginning lol). I love the interactions between Georgie and Andrew, the way she would do little, but perky and peppy things to get under his skin. Don't get it twisted: Georgie is not like that family some in the entertainment industry consider to be American royalty (what they hell are they even famous for?)
