My thoughts:
When I finished this book, I immediately wanted to write my review and was ready to give a 5-star rating, but once I came down from the high after reading, it dawned on me that there were a few issues that weren't resolved, hence my 4-star rating.

What I like about this book:

This is a very enjoyable story, it grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go. It's got all the elements of a good story: deceit, malice, major family issues, questionable parentage, murder, and the paranormal/supernatural world.

What could make this better:

An explanation about what the Conversatorship is and what it is they do. An explanation about why the Goddess Semiramis got it in with the King. Whatever happened with G?What the hell is up with Alex's boss Gene?More of a romantic build between Alex and Jared.

Overall this is a very good read and I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
