BLOG TOUR REVIEW & GIVEAWAY - Where You Are by Alla Kar

Summary from Goodreads:
Got boy problems? Call Laney Scott. She's good for advice, a shoulder, or a swift kick where you need it. When her roommate Bethany gets her heart broken, yet again, it's Laney to the rescue. But Laney's harboring a secret. She's nursing her own broken heart. She and her friends come up with a plan to break Aiden and set it into play. Laney wants Aiden to pay for what he's done to Bethany. She will make him fall in love with her, so can break his heart.

Laney's ex-boyfriend Lachlan Hems is back in Florida, still Australian and sexy as hell. His best mate Lucas is getting married, and he is in town for the show. He just didn’t realize Laney would be there … in another guy’s arms, or that seeing her again would have such an effect on him. After the incident in high-school, he vowed to never care for her again. But sometimes fate has different plans.

When Laney’s resolve crumbles, Lachlan is the only one that can put her back together again.

Where You Are is the start of a three-books new adult series from Amazon and Barnes and Noble bestselling author Alla Kar.

Review:
I thought this was a good story, with Laney giving out sound advice in terms of what to do if you really want to snag a guy, but I'm also confused as to how Laney knows this information, since she's only had the one boyfriend and that was four years earlier when she was in high school. And the blurb makes it seem like Lachlan wanted nothing to do with Laney after what happened in high school, but that's not accurate, as he had already forgiven her and was still in love with her, even after being apart for the four years he was back in Australia.

While I don't agree with the idea on how to giving Aiden a taste of his own medicine, at least Laney owned up to the fact that she wasn't comfortable going through with the plan and even tried to get out of it, but Bethany was hell-bent on revenge, even going so far as to say that if Laney backed out, Bethany would tell a mutual friend's boyfriend how Laney coached the girl on how to get and keep the boyfriend.

I'd pretty much figured out Laney's big secret about three-quarters of the way through the book, and while I can understand that she feels like she doesn't deserve to be happy, I had to agree with Lachlan in that she needed to learn to forgive herself and allow herself to be happy again. Overall a cute story, I might check out the next two books in the series when they become available.
