One Last Sin Excerpt: Bleu’s POV

Sin and I file on to the bus with the other tourists and choose seats at the back. It’s where we belong. That’s where the bad kids sit.

The bus is warm but the window is still cold. The glass is fogged so I write in the condensation: Bleu loves Sin.

I draw a fat heart around our names.

“That’s a work of art,” Sin says.

I take out my camera and snap several close-ups, making the words the focal point. “That one is definitely going in a frame.”

Sin smiles and leans over to kiss me. “Sin loves Bleu too.”

I peek over the tops of the seats to see if anyone is paying us any attention. Nope. They’re all too busy looking at their brochures.

“You don’t even come close to looking like you belong on this bus surrounded by normal folk.”

Sin laughs. “I’m not so sure you do, either, but what makes me look so different from what you refer to as normal folk?”

“First of all, you’re in a ridiculously expensive tailored suit. That’s a weird thing to wear for a day of sightseeing. Secondly, you have a gun on you. You’d better hope we don’t go through a metal detector at any of our stops.”

I’m wearing leggings and boots with a long tunic, not a suit that probably cost what most of these people earn in two weeks. “You say I don’t look like I fit in, either, but I think I look pretty normal.”

“Your face is flushed and glowing. You look freshly fucked.”

Great ending to this trilogy! This picks up right where book 2 ends with Bleu's temporary "relocation" courtesy of The Order. Sin and The Fellowship manage to save Bleu and her extra-precious cargo.

I loved seeing how much Bleu and Sin truly love each other, a far cry from the young lady we met in book 1 who is hell-bent on revenge. Abram finally gets what he deserves (thank heavens!), but luckily even with all of Abram's shenanigans, the relationship between Sin and Jamie isn't jeopardized. Now Leith and Sin? That's another kettle of fish; things between them are resolved...ish. Once you learn the full story everything makes sense, but still, it's all kinds of mucked up.

I will say that I wasn't that impressed with the reason why Bleu's sister Ellison suddenly showed up in Scotland. I mean, I'm glad she was there, but not for the reason why she had to come.

The epilogue was a great way to wrap up this series, although I'm hoping that at some point we might get a story about Leith, Lorna and maybe even Jamie.

ARC provided in exchange for honest review.

A Necessary Sin
Book 1 of The Sin Trilogy

Bleu MacAllister is consumed. A horrific childhood incident has caused every decision in her life to revolve around bringing a monster to justice. With years spent studying The Fellowship, an organized crime brotherhood of liars, thieves, and killers, Bleu will rely on her skills as a special agent to cut Thane Breckenridge off at the knees. But walking hand in hand with retribution means risking collateral damage, in the form of Breckenridge’s son Sinclair—until Sin becomes so much more than Bleu bargained for. She’s always known this undertaking would place her life in danger—she never imagined her heart would be as well.

An epic tale of revenge and love in a new romantic trilogy from the New York Times best-selling author of The Beauty Series.
