Author Info
A sucker for a happy ending, Shelly Bell writes sensual romance often with a bit of kink and action-filled erotic thrillers with high-emotional stakes for her alpha heroes and kick-ass heroines.
She began writing upon the insistence of her husband who dragged her to the store and bought her a laptop. When she’s not working her day job, taking care of her family, or writing, you’ll find her reading the latest smutty romance.
She currently writes for Avon Red Impulse, Loose Id, and Soul Mate Publishing.

Going into this book, I figured the main premise would be the smexy scenes between Danielle and Cole, so I was surprised as I was reading that there is also the story arc about what happened to Danielle's stepmother and who was responsible and all of the craziness that goes along with that part of the story.

Danielle is a young woman who has some insecurities about herself. She was overweight when she was younger, and although she has lost the weight, she still doesn't have self-confidence, and doesn't see herself as a sexy woman.

Cole is a few years older than Danielle, but has always had some type of feelings for her. What worked for me was that Danielle and Cole already have a history of sorts that goes back a few years, although Danielle believes that Cole is responsible for what eventually happened to her father. Even though she ends up as a trainee at Cole's BDSM club (all part of what she has to do to gain her stepmother's release), she finally finds someplace where she feels like she fits in, given her sexual proclivities. She also makes a few friends and manages to find love.

I loved the side characters Gracie and Logan, they brought the comedy to this story. Actually, all of the characters played well against each other and that was able to keep the story balanced. When the truth was finally revealed I will say that I was surprised, because that wasn't what I was expecting. But the ending was good and I enjoyed how everything worked out.
