First things first, I have to say that it was both cool, yet a bit weird to find out that the main character and I have the same name.
So this installment picks up right where the first book ended, with Nikki overhearing who Eduardo was calling "boss". Is she jumping to conclusions too soon? She goes back and forth with her feelings for Xavier: who is he really and what, if any, connection did he have with her brother.
Xavier on the other hand, is doing whatever he can to be with Nikki; he opens a bit about his childhood and vaguely describes how he got started making his gazillions of dollars, but he doesn't say what it is that he does specifically.
Nikki learns even more about what her brother was involved in just prior to his death, and she wants no part of it until a case of mistaken identity takes a nasty turn. That turn is what spurs her change of heart decision, but we have to wait for the last part of the series to find out how everything will wrap up.
