Can I just say how glad I am that I got to read this series all at the same time? There is nothing more frustrating than starting a new series, falling in love with it and then having to wait approximately eleventy-two months until the next installment is released.
From the start of the series, you know Nicole and Gabriel are meant to be together. But if the series was written like that, it wouldn't be as entertaining and engaging. Nicole has always crushed on Gabriel, but of course to him, Nicole was off-limits since she is his best friend's younger sister. That all changes when he suddenly sees Nicole in a whole new light, and they end up being friends with benefits. Which is all well and good, until feelings are brought into the picture. Once you start mixing in the heart, you know it's all going to change, and maybe not always in a good way. They go through their ups-and-downs, ultimately deciding it wasn't going to work and parted ways. Obviously that's not the end of the story for Nicole and Gabriel, but is it too late for them?
Now, I would be remiss if I didn't say something about the sexy times between Nicole and Gabriel.
Hot damn those sexy times are extremely, incredibly HAWT! Just ask my husband ;)
These are characters who are written in such a way that you can't help but experiencing the same feelings and emotions they are. But also, there's another character in the story who you might not want to like, but inevitably you do end up liking that person. There is a past relationship that shows back up, and that person spews so much vitrolic you might get the urge to spork them in the taint. Hard. The chemistry between Nicole and Gabriel is undeniable and you will find yourself rooting for them to finally get a chance to be together for real, but once again, life happens and everything is on the line for them. Surely you realize I won't tell you how this ends, but the epilogue does a great job of tying up those loose ends (see what I did there?)
This is a box set that I highly, highly recommend reading. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
