I thought this was an interesting read, with a surprising twist towards the end.

We meet Zaniel and friends at the start of the book when they are youngsters, often getting into trouble together. However, there is an incident and the group of 5 instantly becomes a group of 4. The four still manage to maintain their friendship with each other, although things are not as they appear to be. At least the friendship between Zaniel and Ryan was there, you could tell that Ryan is really there for and has Zaniel's back.

Then there's the relationship between Zaniel and Anastasia, which was interesting to watch as it unfolded, but again, there's a twist that you don't see coming, and that's what keeps this story so engrossing. The ending is a bit ambiguous for Zaniel. Will there be another part to his story, or are we left to decide what happens?
