Whoa, this book is all kinds of hotness! I love the fact that this isn't an "insta-love" story, since Parker and Mia have known each other since high school. The chemistry is there between them, even if they don't actually realize yet; or rather, they recognize that the other is attractive, but that's as far as they're willing to admit.

This story moves along at a good pace, not too fast that you're left feeling confused, nor so slow that you feel like you're walking through molasses. There is the usual side drama of a persistent ex, the not wanting to admit how they feel about each other and not wanting to ruin longstanding friendships.
I love the fact that we get this story from alternating POVs, and the way both Ms. McLaughlin and Ms. Dover write, you're not sure who is writing which character, yet it all flows together so smoothly. Another thing that works for me with this story is the anticipation: we know who's in the Dark Room, and lawd today those scenes are HAWT! But you're also wondering not only if, but when will everything be brought out into the light?
I recommend this book if you're looking for a hot sexy read with relatable characters, especially a hero who isn't a total douchenozzle, and the heroine who is trying to get her life back on track after a disastrous relationship. I'm already anticipating the next book!
