Purchase:Synopsis: Gabby Morgan isn’t looking for love. Not even a little romance. Following a rocky past that she’d just as soon forget, she’s determined to focus on the future. One that most certainly doesn’t involve the tough-as-nails, short-on-words, hot-as-hell biker…or his kid.
Blake Mahone may not be done with women, but he’s finished with relationships. Then Gabby Morgan enters the picture. She’s flawless, refined, and as his kid’s teacher, way out of his league. She acts like she hates him, but her eyes tell a different story. Before he knows it, Blake finds himself hot for teacher, and he’s more than ready to learn all her secrets. Now all he has to do is convince her to give him a shot…without getting them both killed in the process.
While I really enjoyed this book, I might have enjoyed it more if I had liked Gabby more than I do; she was just too....judgy for me. After the crap she went through with her ex, she seemed to think less of some other people. And that type of person annoys the hell out of me. Yes, she got a chance to start over and hopefully make better decisions, but at the same time if you know the threat is still out there, do as well as you can to just be thankful you've lived to see another day.
Now Blake, on the other hand? I thought he was great, right from the start. He did what he had to do for his son and never looked back. You could feel the bond he had with Ash and that was a wonderful thing. And for the love of canned cheese, I absolutely loved Ash! He was the grownest little 6 year old boy, just too damn cute for words.
There was some drama in the story, but I kept waiting for more to happen. I guess I was looking for grittier, and although it did lack that, this was still a book I enjoyed and I'll be happy to continue reading the series.
