First, let me say that I adore the men and women from Lani Lynn Vale's books, they are all equally flawed in their own way, endearing, stubborn, loyal to a fault and when they love, they love hard. Another point I love about Ms. Vale's books is that we get to see characters from other books make appearances, since somehow, some way, the characters are known to each other, even if it's just by name.
Tai is Jack's brother (Jack is from the Freebird series), so we get to see a few faces from that series here. I will say that this book is full of feels. FULL. OF. FEELS. Tai is still dealing with the guilt over what happened years ago that resulted in the death of his sister. His decision on quickly getting out of debt is what eventually leads him to meeting Mia, who is facing her own tragic situation, and the fact that Tai could be the one to potentially change the outcome is what has her track him down and convince him to go through with everything.
But, regardless of Tai's guilt and Mia's current situation, the story is balanced with just the right amount of comedy. Mia is hilarious at times and is the light to Tai's darkness. As with just about every LLV story, there's plenty of drama, and epic hot sexuals
