RELEASE BLITZ - Wednesday by Kendall Ryan

WEDNESDAY
By: Kendall Ryan
Release Day: May 23
Standalone

Hard core fucking.
It’s not what I really want, but it's all he has to offer. He's filled with turmoil and heartache and regrets, but for two hours every Wednesday all he feels is me. How much I desire him, how desperate he makes me, how much I'd like things to be different between us. Real.
He used to be my best friend back before he got married. And now? Now, he’s a young widower. It'd be wrong on so many levels to expect something more from him. So I give him what he needs. Dark delicious fucking. But I know I can’t keep this up. I've already given him my body, my soul. I want him to have my heart. It might drive him away forever, but that’s a risk I’m forced to take.
Wednesday is an angsty romp told from dual points of view. If you’re in the mood for something quick and dirty, you’ve found it. Proceed at your own risk.

This is a quick read, but it still manages to be both hot like fire with a good mix of angst. With this being a novella, it's easy to get into the and story and find it somewhat realistic since the main characters have known each other since childhood.

I can understand Shaw's initial reaction to Chloe after his wife's funeral; not that I would do the same, but grief might be the impetus for irrational decisions. What I didn't care for was the way he continued to treat Chloe for months after. But at least he does realize that his decisions and actions aren't the way to treat your best friend, but for whatever reason he doesn't seem to be able to stop, even going so far as to show up when she's out at a concert with someone else. He does finally explain why he sees her on Wednesdays, not that the excuse makes it okay, but again, you don't think rationally when your life is altered to that extent.

Something happens with Shaw that finally has him seeing the way he should be living his life and how he needs to treat and be with Chloe, and they are able to have their HEA. I had this book done in a couple of hours, but it's definitely a good read.
