The event that shook one small town to its core was never solved. The domino effect of one person’s crime going unpunished is beyond measure.

He’s no saint.

Dover ‘Collector’ Ragnes rides with only five brothers at his back. Nomads with no place to call home, they never stay in one place too long. Together, they are the Devil’s Due MC, and their only purpose is to serve justice their way for unsolved crimes everywhere they go.

She’s not afraid to call herself a sinner.

Emerson Flint still remembers the loss of her elementary school best friend. She is all grown up, but the memories still haunt her of the missing girl. Surrounding herself with men at the tattoo shop, she never questions her safety. Her life is her art. Her canvas is the skin of others.

However, danger is at her door.

Will Dover overcome the history he shares with Emerson in time? Will Emerson lead him to the retribution he has always sought?

Love, hate, anger, and passion collide as the time comes, and the devil demands his due.

Sooo, this was my first time reading Chelsea Camaron, and once I got to the end, the only thing I could think of was what took me so long to read anything she's written? This story literally pulled me from the first page, from the self-loathing and guilt that Dover is experiencing in regards to his younger sister is a palpable thing, to the devastation once his sister is found.

Years later we find that Dover is now riding with a few other men who are collectively known as the Devil's Due MC, and each member of the crew has their own tragic set of circumstances that have inevitably led them to becoming a member of the club. What I like is that while the men are all there for each other, whichever brother is dealing with his case, they will all defer to that person being in charge until the resolution has been reached.

After 9 years of living under lock and key with her parents following her best friend's disappearance, once Emerson is of legal age she beats feet out of her parents house, but her mother won't let her go, and it's not until she tells her dad that he helps her escape from Tennessee, where she eventually ends up in Leed, Alabama. Emerson is caught unaware when the Devil's Due MC shows up at the tattoo shop where she currently works; she had no idea that the owner, Earl, has known Dover for a few years.

It doesn't start out as any sort of happy reunion between Dover and Emerson, but the chemistry between them is too strong to ignore, and at some point they do get it in, even though Emerson is adamant it won't happen again. But the more time they spend together, the more they are working towards healing after so many years of the unknown with the unresolved case. Things get even more dramatic with yet another disappearance of a young girl, and the search leads to a surprising twist.

While we meet the other members of the Devil's Due MC, we don't get to know a lot about them, but I will say that for a good majority of the book, I COULD NOT stand Trapper; there have been very few characters whose asses I wanted to kick, and Trapper was right up there. But the more I read the book, it became obvious that his behavior is a coping mechanism for whatever happened to him when he was younger. And if that wasn't obvious, the very last part of the story will definitely show you a bit more into his psyche. I have a feeling that his will be the hardest to read, and saddest book of the series, and I can't wait till he finally gets to tell his story.

ARC provided in exchange for honest review.
