When her mother’s incessant matchmaking hits an all-time high, Georgie Archibald does what any sensible woman would do: she flees the country.
Seeking refuge in the picturesque seaside village of Vernazza, Italy, Georgie’s only plan is to lie low, gorge herself on gelato, and let the wine and waves wash her troubles away...that is until she wakes up in a bed that belongs to the most romantic-looking man she’s ever seen.
Gianluca.
After going out of his way to rescue her, the former London financier turned mysterious recluse makes it clear that despite acting as her white knight, he has no plans to co-star in her fairytale.
But Georgie isn’t asking for his heart—she’s merely intrigued.
After all, Gianluca isn’t just gorgeous—tall and tan from days spent in the sun—his touch sets her world on fire. With him, Georgie experiences the most intoxicating passion she’s ever known, and it only takes a few steamy nights for her to realize that sometimes running away from trouble is the best way to find it.

Read this in one day.

One. Day.

I rarely read a book in one sitting, but I was literally hooked from the first page. Georgie just might be my spirit animal! After reading about a couple of the men her mother tried to set her up, I can understand why she ran away from home. It doesn't take long for Georgie to become friends with some of the locals in Vernazza, including Katerina, her boyfriend Massimo and Massimo's cousin Gianluca.

Now, Georgie is the type of person who seems to radiate sunshine and rainbows, while Gianluca is all quiet and brooding and closed off, except to Katerina and Massimo. There is a reason why Gianluca's closed off, but I won't give that away. It takes real effort and persistence on her side, but with the project they're working on, she manages to break through Gianluca's walls and they become friends. Despite Katerina's warnings, Georgie falls for Gianluca, but she's not sure about his feelings for her; but that all goes back to why he's so standoffish. And just when there's an even bigger breakthrough with them, a discovery leads Georgie to put a halt to what it is happening between them. Which gives Gianluca even more to contemplate.

I will say that while I wasn't happy with Georgie's choice about being with Gianluca, I can certainly understand her rationale, most of us have done something in a relationship we wouldn't normally do, but sometimes the heart overrides the brain. There's another twist that occurs toward the end of the story, but a tidbit is thrown out there in the story that is easy to pick up on, so I knew how that part would play out, but not how it would affect G&G's relationship. I'm happy to say that G&G did get their HEA and we got one more fantabulous love story from R.S. Grey!

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny". Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
