In the business world, Christopher Colby is a force to be reckoned with—admired by many, he's an intelligent, confident, smooth-talking COO who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

To Quinn Cordell, Christopher is a demon reincarnated—a sexy, self-centered, cocky bastard who is trying his damnedest to take over her family's company.

Normally, Quinn handles men like that very well—with precision and tactics of her own.

Quinn understands Christopher's type.

But what Quinn doesn't understand is, why she allowed Christopher to grope her in a supply closet?

This was my first time reading Z.N. Willett and honestly I thought this was going to be a DNF for me. The first third of the book started out slow, and it felt like the continuation of an earlier story; the way characters were mentioned without an explanation as to who they were was confusing. The issue concerning the Colby company's attempt at taking over the Cordell company and the machinations which the Colbys used to try and take over. Blackmail is mentioned; who was blackmailed and why?
Even by the end of the book, I still had questions about certain events that were never explained. For me, the story really began to pick up once Quinn and her father attended the soiree at the Colby estate. There's more at stake for Quinn and Christopher: who will be named the new CEO? And how will the announcement affect not only their professional relationship, but their fragile personal one?

I loved Christopher! He's all smooth and sexy and has the dirty talk down to a science; sure he's a playboy, but his actions with Quinn suggest that he wants more than just sex with her. It took me a long time to finally like Quinn. But I honestly can't say why. I understand her behavior at the start of the story, considering everything the Colbys were trying to do in regards to the Cordell company. I can also understand that while she is most definitely attracted to Christopher, she refuses to cross that line with him. But at the same time, she was something of a drama queen. Case in point: when she hung up on Christopher to speak to someone she knows is interested in her romantically (although her feelings weren't the same for that person). She goes into meltdown mode because Christopher was upset by her blatant dismissal of his feelings about that situation. She's honestly more concerned about the not-boyfriend and his feelings than she was about Christopher.

Okay, so that drama aside, the book manages to get even better the last 30% or so. There's another issue with Quinn's dad, the Board votes for the new CEO and now their relationship is in further jeopardy. Even more secrets come after the vote, but the true shocker is what Christopher sets into motion and the deception that was brought to light.

“May I cut in?” Mr. Clueless interrupted.

My eyes locked on to his green ones. At that point, I welcomed the pervert. He didn’t wait for Tony to respond and took my hand, whisking me away from him. “Should I be surprised that you’re light on your feet?” I asked.

The man could dance.
“I’m surprised you can move in that dress.”
“What is it with you and this dress?”
He thought for a while, and then held me tighter as he whispered, “Can you get on your knees in that dress?”
I gasped, attempting to pull away from him, though he only held me tighter.
“Can those long legs wrap around broad shoulders in that dress?” He grinned.
I couldn’t believe what he was saying to me, never mind the fact I was in the middle of a crowded dance floor, while some stranger was verbally getting me off.
“Do you spew out language like that to every woman you meet?” I hissed.
His grin shifted crooked as his eyes landed on my breasts. “You’re my first, and I must say I would have loved to have popped that cherry in that dress.”
My traitorous nubs hardened.
I wanted this man.
