To block out a nightmare past, retired car thief and mechanic Adam Grady has chosen a life of complete denial. So when he agrees to one final job, the last thing he expects to find in the car he’s just boosted is his biggest temptation – his best friend’s little sister. Now he’s on the road trip from hell, and the sexy she-devil riding shotgun is determined to make him sin…
Lucy Colton’s specialty is burning bridges and epic mistakes, but now it’s time to sort out her life and get serious. Well, she will after succeeding in one final, reckless endeavor: seducing her long time crush Adam Grady. Forever might be off the table, but there’s a sizzling heat between them even he can’t deny. And she’s determined to test his limits.
Well, one thing I can say for sure is that Adam and Lucy definitely have plenty of heat and chemistry between them, even if the secrets they're both guarding are somewhat deep. Not to say that one secret is any worse than the other, but once both secrets were revealed, my first thought is why didn't Adam ever see a counselor to help him deal with what happened? I feel like that might have been beneficial for him. Lucy's issue unfortunately wouldn't be put to rest until the other party finally understood that it really was over.
Is Lucy an impulse thinker? The answer to that is an emphatic YES. But sometimes that's what being young does, you don't always think things through and consider any consequences of your actions and choices. While I don't necessarily agree with her tactics, I do like that she finally got through to Adam enough that he would admit he has some type of feelings for her. If only she knew just how deep his feelings for her really were, that might have saved everyone anger and heartbreak. But then that would take away from the story, especially the scene between Adam, Hugh and Joe. Not to mention the 4 visitor to that already tumultuous plateau. It was never explained how that person knew where Lucy was staying, which skeeved me out honestly.
What I was impressed by was Lucy's change of attitude towards Adam; I can only imagine how much that had to hurt her heart after having feelings for him for so long, but as we all know, there's only so much a heart can take before you simply say "no more". That was one of Adam's wake up calls; the other being a bit of news that Joe tells him that finally makes Adam get himself together to be the man he wants and needs to be for Lucy.
