Between the Bookends - “This was seriously one of the best student/teacher books I have read.”

Remington Stringer has never been like most girls. She’s outspoken, brazen and wants nothing more than to escape the Nevadan hell hole that she calls home.

On the brink of eighteen, with a deceased mother and a well-meaning, yet absent father, she is forced to fend for herself. The only person she’s ever had to depend on is her borderline obsessive stepbrother, Ryan. But, what used to be her anchor is quickly becoming a loose cannon.

When Remi gets the opportunity to attend the best private school in the state during her senior year of high school, she jumps at the chance. Then she meets Mr. James. Ornery, aloof, and totally irresistible.

Most girls would swoon in secrecy.

Most girls would doodle his name with hearts in their notebook.

But Remi Stringer has never been like most girls.

I literally DEVOURED this book! The chemistry between Pierce and Remi is eleven kinds of hot, and with the whole student/teacher aspect, they're oh so deliciously taboo. The connection between them is one of those unbreakable bonds, although those bonds have been stretched a time or seven throughout this story. This is one of those books you know almost from the start is going to stick with you long after you've finished reading it; you might even find yourself going back to skim through it 84 more times, even though your TBR list is approximately 15 miles long.

Or is that just me?

In addition to the forbidden romance, we get a great blend of secrets, lies, plenty of angst, and betrayal within these pages. And this is all while trying to make it through the last year of high school! I've read a few of Charleigh Rose's previous books, but this one is, hands down, my favorite book to date!
