Yes! I couldn't wait to dive into this book as soon as it hit my e-reader, because I just had to know what would happen after that cliffhanger in Ruthless King, and this book did not disappoint me. Well, until I got to the end with an even more shocking cliffhanger.
I was happy to know that we got to know a bit more about Mount's early years, but I still would have liked even more information than what we were given, especially how he got to the exalted position he currently has in New Orleans. And thank you Meghan March for giving us a male lead character is not in his 20s, but instead in his early 40s (being in my 40s I can now relate to characters closer to my age lol).
Mount is still the same arrogant and cocky man we met in book one, although he does show a bit of uncertainty during a particular scene involving Lucas Titan (and I was happy to see him as well!) Keira is still the same stubborn woman as she was in book one, and while she's still super pissed about her current situation, she's equally confused about her feelings for Mount. The chemistry between them is still electric and the sexy times are supernova hot.
There are still a couple of questions I had by the time I reached the end of this installment (other than who is responsible for the cliffhanger, although I think I know). My other question revolves around the incident at the start of the book, when Mount was just a teenager, I just want to know what happened to the characters we met at the start of the book, and if they are in way still somehow in Mount's orbit, and if they are in what way. Other than that, all I can say is that with this book's cliffhanger, I cannot wait until the last book comes out to find out what's gonna happen with Mount and Keira!
