REVIEW TOUR - The Wright Secret by K.A. Linde

A new brother’s-best-friend stand alone romance by USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

I was just his best friend’s little sister.

But he was always more than that to me.

After twelve years of pining over Patrick’s easy smile, baby blues, and captivating charm, I decide to take matters into my own hands—and completely blow my chance.

Who knew a self-proclaimed manwhore would decide to be a gentleman the first time I’m naked in his bed? Definitely, not me. But when I land there again, neither of us has any intention of stopping.

There’s only one problem: nobody can know. Especially not my three older brothers. If they found out, all hell would break loose.

So I’m willing to keep our secret. Because I want him Wright here, right now.

I was so happy to finally get Morgan's and Patrick's story, since we've been waiting to see if these two would ever get their HEA. As much as I enjoyed this book, to me it felt like it had less angst than the previous stories, which isn't necessarily a negative. As much as Morgan has going on with her career, adding any additional drama would have taken away from the blossoming romance between Morgan and Patrick.

This can be read as a standalone, but it might be a bit helpful if you read the previous books because there are a couple of backstories on some characters that might be confusing if you just jump in with this book.

I will admit that I thought Patrick's change of heart in seeing Morgan was rather abrupt, but the more the story progressed, and I learned about an incident that happened years prior, it made sense why he only saw Morgan the way he did for the longest time. I liked that he was the calm to Morgan's storm and seemed to be able to keep her grounded and helping her learn to relax and live in the moment. What really impressed me about him is that he accepted her for who she is because he knows the very nature of her personality and soul, and that he's not threatened by her status as a CEO.

As for Morgan, she's doing her best to learn to balance having an outside life with stepping into the role as CEO for Wright Construction; it doesn't help matters when an exiled relative suddenly shows up in Lubbock with motives only Morgan can see right away. What I didn't like was how Jensen kept blowing off Morgan's concerns and his telling her to basically "suck it up and be nice". Even in fictional stories women in positions of authority are still being treated to a double standard.

I liked how this story wrapped up, and I'm hoping that Sutton's story will be next, and maybe at some point a spin-off for the Canadian cousins we got to meet in this book.

P.S. I'd love to know how Patrick makes the mashed potatoes!
