One-Eighty by Marie James is LIVE and FREE in KU!

A bully romance like no other! One Eighty is a whole new take on a trope that I have quite the love/hate relationship with and this book landed on MEGA love for me. I’m super picky when it comes to bully romance, I need to see and be able to actually feel the characters to be able to love a hero that has done so many truly atrocious things, but Marie James took that to a whole new level with Dalton. There’s a lot of heartbreak in their story, a lot of forgiving, a lot of growing up and every bit of it had me glued to the pages.” ~Red Hatter Book Blog

He loves what he can't remember —she can't forget the truth...

PIPER
Arrogant, controlling, and an absolute jerk. He's everything I loathe, and everything I want to forget. But he doesn't remember a bit of it. One accident, one misstep, changed everything. Changed him. Now, he's different and unbelievably sexy. But I refuse to fall for a bully.

DALTON
Sexy, smart, feisty, and perfect. She's everything I want, and nothing that I remember. What she says I am, I refuse to believe. For her, I will be anything. I will do anything. Even destroy the bully from before.

I've not read a lot of the bully romances that are floating out there, but once I started this particular book I could NOT put it down! The prologue was a bit sad, until the last couple of lines that I wasn't prepared for, and that's what had me racing through the book to find out how the characters got to that point, and by the end of the second chapter I wanted nothing more than to reach through my e-reader and kick the hell out of Dalton's ass. He might be one of the worst bullies I've read (in my limited bully-reading experience).

Thankfully we don't get to see a lot dickbag Dalton before things change drastically, which in turn changes the interactions between him and Piper, although she's not having any of it, given the years he's bullied her. However, seeing the change in Dalton, he's definitely wrapped up in all things Piper and wants nothing but her and her heart. Getting her to believe and accept it is a whole separate battle. I certainly couldn't fault her for holding him at arm's length throughout the book, and it took a good dose of advice from a character who seems wise beyond their years to get Piper to see the value in learning to let go. This same person also dispenses sound advice to Dalton.

While I liked how the story played out, I do wish there'd been more to the interactions with Dalton's former band of dickbag friends, but what I'm already looking forward to is the next book, which centers around Piper's best friend Frankie and her nemesis Zeke.
