★★★★★ Goodreads Review - “Wow, this is so different from what I normally read. I wasn't sure on it but took the chance as I enjoyed D. Willams as an author. I'm so glad I did, because it was a great book.”

Earth isn’t how you imagined it would be. My parents' grandparents tried to warn us, but we didn’t listen. We’ve destroyed ourselves to the point of extinction. Sixty years, give or take, is what the human race has left before the population drops below what we scientists call the critical level. I’m convinced the solution is found in nature. Something we had is now missing, and since we’ve killed seventy percent of this planet, I’m not sure I’ll find what we need to survive. I don’t believe in miracles. The world lost spiritually around WWIII. It’s going to take nothing short of magic to save us, but I’m not giving up hope. It is all we have left. During a drunken night off, I stumble upon a being that will be our salvation or my doom. Maybe both the whiskey is making it a toss-up. When you learn that all the legends, myths, folklore, and fairytales are true but have been warped through time, you come to a simple realization…We never knew anything at all. Everything was a lie, and nothing will be the same again.Avalon has returned.
All hail the King.
I was lucky enough to score an advanced copy of this book and while it’s not an overly long read (I finished in a couple of hours), there’s so much happening that you’ll be quickly wrapped up in what’s going on. Since this is a MMF story, we get the story from all three POVs, and I like how much that helped shape the book. The world building is descriptive without being too detailed, and I have to admit that while I like Gwyn, Thur and Lance really did it for me; they’ve got PLENTY of history between them from the start of the book, and while I liked the interactions with Gwyn, something about it felt off, maybe because there’s a lot going on but the book itself isn’t a longer story. But I can’t wait to see how things will play out for these three when the next book is released.
