This was my first A.J. Pryor book but it won't be my last. It's not a typical sports romance and these aren't the typical characters: both Hannah and Derek are in Chicago and both are looking for a new start to their lives: Hannah, due to a previous relationship that did not end amicably, and Derek, who's back home trying to jump-start his NFL career again. I liked the chemistry between Derek and Hannah, even though he wanted nothing to do with her in a professional setting. In spite of that, Derek is still attracted to Hannah. But, there's also an incident that occurred years ago, something that has the potential to destroy the Cage family name and legacy. With that incident slowly being explored, there are even more secrets surrounding the events and those involved, and that makes for a compelling read. I was shocked when the truth finally came out because that was something I didn't suspect.
