So the story of Zoe and Ben is one that's over-the-top, bordering on campy, and I found it a fun book to read. Despite the outrageousness of their situation, I still found the characters to be believable, close to realistic, and that makes the story enjoyable. Ben is all kinds of a dirty talker, but his dirty talk came across as natural. There's nothing that irritates me more when a character is engaging in dirty talk but it comes across stiff (see what I did there). I do wish this book had been a bit longer so we could have gotten a bit more character development. But I do like the way the characters were presented to us: Zoe and her best friend Stacy have a great friendship that came across as realistic. And goodness, Ben and Zoe are all kinds of hot together. Ben definitely knows how to do dirty talk, and dirty talk well. The one thing I would have changed would be the appearance of someone from Ben's past; I either would have preferred that happen, or the situation with one of the nurses in the office, but I wouldn't have used both plot devices. This is still a quick and enjoyable story and I'm looking forward to reading more Maddie King in the future.
