RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW - Day 31 by Kane Caldwell

Title: Day 31
Author: Kane Caldwell
Genre: Erotic Romance Standalone
Release Date: June 10, 2017

Everything I'd planned on giving up was taken from me in an instant.

I felt responsible.

I tried moving on. Looking for light on my darkest days. But I just couldn't handle the demons inside. Out of despair, I tried ending my life. But just like protecting what was mine, I failed.

I was sent to the mental ward.

Sixty days.

Thirty-one days in, they put me in a new visiting program.

I didn't think anyone could reach me.

Then her sweet fucking gaze hit me.

*~*~*

My life revolved around one thing, the church.

That’d been until I found countless shady documents the deeper I dug into my father’s office. When I got to the end of the rope and my questions hadn’t been answered, I took the next step.

I signed up for the visiting program, one prayer was answered when I was assigned to him.

I had Thirty days with him to find the answers I’d been looking for.

But nothing went as I’d planned when his powerful gaze hit me.

This isn't an overly long book, but it still manages to evoke the emotions of betrayal, loss, friendship, redemption and love within the pages (or swipes if you're using an e-reader).

Callen is understandably sullen and withdrawn, given what he's experienced over the last few months of his life, and how he dealt with all that happened. His attempt at keeping everyone at arm's length seems to work, until Noelle is paired up with him for the visiting program. He's drawn to her natural beauty and innocence, although he does what he can to essentially drive her away from him and out of his life. Luckily though, Noelle doesn't give up quite that easily, and Callen soon finds himself actually looking forward to her visits.

Noelle is the sheltered daughter of a pastor who works part time at the church's office. She's never had a good relationship with her father and stepmother, and the secrets she uncovered further strained the relationship she has with her father. Those same secrets are what led her to volunteering for the visiting program and being paired up with Callen. What started off as a stepping stone for atonement quickly changed the more she spent time with Callen. I will say that for Noelle to have been sheltered, she's not a meek little lamb, but rather a woman who knows when to choose her battles.

We get tiny tidbits of information regarding the events that led to Callen being admitted for psychiatric help, but the entire story comes out close to the end of the book, and I have to say I wasn't expecting that twist to be the catalyst, I was thinking of a different scenario. But I liked how that same twist gave Noelle the leverage she needed to make the changes in her life that came about (it's so hard to write this review without giving up too much info lol).

I would like go on record and say thank you to Mr. Caldwell for creating two characters who are people you could know in real life; as much as I love the stories of the rich bad boy who falls for the innocent virgin, we instead get a man makes a respectable amount of money being the manager in the IT industry, not owning the company.

I’m Kane Caldwell, a romance author. Writing started years ago as a hobby but quickly turned into a passion. I am the epitome of a country boy with my jeans, t-shirt, hat (No, not a cowboy hat. Lol), scruffy face, and work boots on, driving my truck and definitely not a guy you'd picture writing erotic romance. I’m in my mid-forties but my mind tells me differently along with keeping up with my two awesome teenage boys. I live in the south where the weather is warm but most times sweltering hot. When I have down time, I love to be surrounded by family, friends, great food, or engrossed in a good book. And of course, putting my erotic imagination to work, bringing you stories of love, lust and everything in between.
